Samsung is on a roll and is pushing out yet another Android Marshmallow software update, and the device that is benefiting from the OS upgrade this time around is the Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

The update brings the smartphone to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and it is being pushed out in Samsung's home country South Korea.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A smartphone holds the distinction of being the first handset from the company to tout a Quad HD display. It was released a few months after the Galaxy S5 Premiere hit the shelves.

The model number for the Samsung smartphone is SM-G906K, and according to the changelog, the build date for the software update is Monday, May 9. This variant of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A is exclusive to South Korea. The build number is G906KKTU1CPE1, and the changelist is 8016985.

The European variant of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A handset has the model number the SM-G901 and is called the Galaxy S5 Plus. We reported that the Galaxy S5 Plus also benefitted from the Android Marshmallow update a week ago.

According to a SamMobile report, the three major network operators in South Korea are pushing out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

New software updates are usually pushed out in phases and therefore could take some time before it makes its way to all the Galaxy S5 LTE-A users in South Korea.

The OTA update to the latest OS will see Android users of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A get features such as Google Now on Tap, the Doze mode, as well as improved app permission control and more.

If you are in South Korea and would like to manually check if your Galaxy S5 LTE-A smartphone has got the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update, go to Settings > About Device > Software Update > Check for Updates.
