Samsung has expanded the availability of the S Note app and its updates from the Galaxy Apps store to include the Play store.

The S Note app, an exclusive for Galaxy Note devices, records and files notes written with Samsung's S Pens. Users can draft up to 500 pages in a single note and sort files into categories or sync them with Evernote.

Though it's designed for Samsung's Galaxy Note series, the app is compatible with other devices - of course, S Pen features will be unavailable.

And for Note owners confused about the Play Store calling their devices incompatible, the S Note app will apparently still work as intended.

For those new to the S Note and those who need a refresher, here's a rundown of the app's features (via the Play Store):

• Create, edit and insert charts into S Note
• Supports different charts - Line, Bar, Pie and Table
• Customize charts using datasets, colors for datasets and items and units
• Preview charts before saving
• Export chart to Excel (.xls), PDF (.pdf) and Image (.jpg) file formats
• Copy and Paste numeric data to create charts
• Change handwriting recognition language for dataset and item names

And for those who don't have access to the Play store, APK Mirror has secured a copy of S Note app's APK.

That's it. That bit about the S Note app arriving at Google's Play store is the most notable Galaxy Note news for a while, but that's not stopping the hype for the follow-ups to the acclaimed Note 5 series.

When comparing the Note 5 to the rumored specs of its successor, Tech Times' Sumit Passary writes that the Note 6 "will be a significant upgrade to its predecessor."

"Samsung may take another two to three months before the phablet is officially released," writes Passary. "Customers will have to wait longer and given the anticipated specs of the Galaxy Note 6, the phablet is worth the wait."
