We've been hearing chatter of a Deadpool movie for quite some time, though we never thought it would actually happen. 20th Century Fox announced on Sept. 18 that the studio is aiming to develop the movie, and it is scheduled for a February 12, 2016 release date.

We're quite surprised to realize that Fox is truly aiming to bring Deadpool to the big screen, and no, we won't recognize the Deadpool character thrown into the first Wolverine movie. Now, with everything set to go, we have to wonder if Fox is willing to release a movie that is true to the comics, or would the studio boil it down to entertain a larger audience.

Furthermore, who will play Deadpool?

Fans of the character all seem to prefer Ryan Reynolds to reprise his role. After all, Fox has always had Reynolds as the main man for the job. However, years have passed, and chances are the studio might be eyeing someone else right now.

"The movie has been in a state of limbo for a while. There was such an overpowering reaction to the [leaked] footage, you sort of feel like, 'Oh, so we weren't crazy for our reasons for loving this character, for loving this role.' It's interesting to see the power of the Internet. It's awe-inspiring, actually," Reynolds told the Niagara Falls Review. "And it's neat that Twitter and Facebook and Instagram can move mountains when used in the right way."

It must also be said that Reynolds has yet to appear in a hit film in a long time, and he is also known as a Box Office poison due to failures of The Change-Up and Green Lantern back in 2011. To be fair, Reynolds was not at fault where Green Lantern was concerned. The blame should be laid squarely at the feet of the writers and director of the film.

Should Deadpool be thrown into the X-Men universe?

Of course, he should because, after all, Deadpool was created using the DNA of Wolverine. We're not saying Fox should make him into an X-Men, just place him in the same universe because fans deserve an X-Men movie where Deadpool is involved one way or the other.
