Good news for business users of Skype. Microsoft is opening up the service further to businesses by finally releasing the Skype For Business App SDK, which will aid developers in integrating the platform to their native apps.

For the unfamiliar, Microsoft announced the SDK at its Build 2016 event in March and now the tool is available for download.

On May 19, Microsoft released the Skype For Business App SDK tools, which will essentially enable both Android and iOS developers to imbibe the service's audio, voice and messaging capabilities into their own mobile apps.

The notion behind the SDK is to enable the service to fuel communication experiences within the apps itself, which will in turn aid the developers in turning their attention on developing the novel features of their product.

"Skype for Business will provide MDLIVE with a much more scalable architecture, so we can accommodate even higher volumes of video consults daily," noted Randy Parker, CEO of and founder of MDLIVE. "The adoption of Skype for Business also enables us to deliver a significantly improved user experience for both patients and physicians."

The first phase of the SDK's release focuses on the "remote adviser." This solution will basically enable an app developer to allow support for "guest meeting join," which will enable the guest user to engage and communicate with organizations that already peruse the Skype for Business Server or use an active Skype for Business Online service.

Thanks to remote adviser at their disposal, businesses that desire to interact with remote customers via tablets or mobile phones through chat, call or video chat can do so seamlessly.

Essentially, what the first SDK preview will do is that it will let organizations deploying Skype for Business to update their own mobile apps. After the update, users will have the alternative of talking to the company through the app at their disposal.
