Somewhere in this galaxy, a hotel's automatic door sounds just like one of the characters from Star Wars.

What appears to be an ordinary entrance to an unknown hotel lobby actually makes the same sound as the astromech droid, R2-D2.

"This hotel's lobby door sounds just like R2-D2 screaming when it opens," YouTube user Comedology wrote.

The clip shows a man holding a beverage in his hand, approaching the sliding glass door to open it.

When the automatic door slides, it emits a sound that is reminiscent of the lovable robot from the Star Wars movies.

The man behind the camera bursts into laughter, as he asks his friend to go through the door one more time.

The footage was first posted on YouTube on Friday and has since gone viral, racking up more than 1.6 million views.

One commenter jokingly asked, "Is this a spoiler for episode VIII?"

Even after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope was released nearly 40 years ago, the George Lucas films remain hugely popular.

Apart from the epic characters, storyline and Harrison Ford's good looks, the franchise has made science fiction cool and it resonated with everyone.

"I remember going with my wife and saying, 'Look at these audiences!'" sci-fi author and professor, Paul Levinson, told PennLive. "This franchise really brought science fiction, which had a cult following, into the mainstream in a huge way."

Automatic sliding doors apparently make the same kind of audio effects fans of the hit sci-fi franchise have come to love, CNET noted.

In 2009, user misha6119 posted a video of someone's cabinet door hinge sounding like Chewbacca.
