Rocket League developer Psyonix stays true to its word, rolling out cross-network play support for the Xbox One and PC.

For those who don't know what's exactly coming to them, Xbox One and PC players can get in on the action in the same match across the platforms. Not to mention that they'll start facing more kinds of opponents and band together with a whole lot of different teammates now.

It's also worth mentioning that this marks the first time that an Xbox One game has cross-network support with a PC counterpart.

"It's a historic moment for us here at Psyonix, and we're really exciting to bring Xbox One and Steam PC players closer together. Cross-network play has been something that Xbox One gamers have been asking us for since the day we launched, and thanks to Microsoft's new cross-network policies, we're proud to give it to them," Jeremy Dunham, Psyonix vice president, says.

With that said, it isn't the first instance of when a console game received support for cross-network play, as the Xbox 360 already had a couple up its sleeve.

At any rate, gone are the days of arguing with friends about which platform is the better one. Well, in the case of Rocket League between the Xbox One and PC at least.

Going over really quick on how to turn it on, just go to Options and hit up the cross-play feature there.

It should also be pointed out that Xbox Live and PSN cross-network play is already in the works.

To join in the car-soccer fun, you can get your hands on Rocket League at the Xbox Store and Steam for $19.99
