Looks like there's no stopping Joan Rivers. Two weeks after her death, a post promoting the iPhone 6 went live from her Facebook account, appearing on more than a million news feeds before being quickly taken down.

First spotted by TMZ, the post was actually from her Instagram account. As the account is linked to her Facebook profile, it was automatically posted as well on the social network. It was a post both perfectly timed and not.

It appears the promotional post is part of a deal struck with Apple. Nothing wrong with that. Joan Rivers is a prominent celebrity and prominent celebrities make the best endorsers.

What didn't sit well with people (or more likely creeped them out) was the fact that the post went live after her death.

For what it's worth, Rivers had an efficient team, scheduling posts ahead to make sure everything is ready ahead of time. What she didn't have is a diligent one, one who would double-check everything to ensure all posts are still appropriate.

"This badass is being replaced by an iPhone 6 (not the fat one). I got this one in 2010, and after 4 years, my only complaint is that apps are now designed for bigger screens, and the battery is getting tired. Never had a case for it, since it was most beautiful on its own. Great achievement in design. Great product. #apple #iPhone #tech," read the post.

The post has since been taken down, but not before being seen around the world. Some people took to Twitter to express their reaction.

Some also pointed out that aside from posting for a dead woman, Rivers' team made another mistake: posting wrong information. This is because the picture posted on Instagram featured an iPhone 4S. That particular iPhone was released in 2011. It was discontinued this year.

Rivers died on Sept. 4. That's five days before the iPhone 6 was announced. The comedienne didn't even get a chance to see what it was she was promoting. Apple has not commented on the matter.

Condolences continue to pour in for Rivers' family so Melissa, her daughter, thanked the public for their unwavering support. "We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother's legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many," she said.
