Pebble Technology has launched a new Kickstarter campaign, this time encompassing two smartwatches, the Pebble 2 and the Time 2, and a cellular-connected wearable device dubbed Pebble Core.

Here's what you should know about these new products from Pebble.

Pebble 2 And Time 2's Features

The Pebble 2 and Time 2 are both smartwatches designed to help you with your health endeavors. Created specifically for runners, the two units not only track heart rate but also come equipped with music connectivity to let you listen to your favorite workout tunes as you jog.

Conveniently fastened on your wrist, these trackers can do almost anything from keeping your schedule in line to serving up notifications, reminding you of your health goals and even allowing you to perform simple tasks through the connectivity feature. These two smart timepieces are built to work with both Android and iOS operating systems.

What's The Difference?

So why are there two different smartwatch units from Pebble Technology? Keeping in mind the varying requirements of backers, Pebble Technology chose to create two different models, each with its own features.

To start off, the Pebble 2 has a battery life of up to seven days while the Time 2 unit has a power life of 10 days. The Time 2 has a 53 percent larger display as opposed to Pebble 2, but other than that, there's really not much difference between the two. The Pebble 2 has an estimated release price of $99, while the Time 2 has a slightly steeper price of $169.

As for the features contained in both, you can expect:

1. E-paper display – so that you can access data regardless of the lighting in your area

2. Microphone – for audio access

3. Water resistance of up to 30 meters (98 feet) – just in case swimming is one of those activities you want in your exercise

4. Built-in activity and sleep tracking – to make sure that you're hitting that daily goal consistently

5. 24/7 heart rate monitor – for those fat-burning workouts and basically any other measurement goal you might have

All in all, these two are pretty cool smartwatches that offer all the features of a high-end health watch without the exorbitant price tag.

Pebble Core

This Android-based cellular-connected clip tracks distance, pace and location with GPS, streams music from Spotify, sends emergency SOS messages and records voice notes without having to be connected to a smartphone, so users can leave their handsets at home when heading out for a run.

This first 3G running accessory has a starting price of $69 and touts five days of battery life.

That's not all Pebble is throwing in. It has also unveiled its Pebble Core for Hackers along with new Pebble Health tools and functionalities.
