It's probably just coincidence that National Hamburger Day lands during Memorial Day weekend in 2016, but what better time to enjoy a patty or two of ground beef served up on a bun with your favorite condiments on May 28?

However, for those who want to step up their burger-noshing to something more superior, and perhaps weirder, here are some burgers from around the world that could provide just the sort of burger foodie experience you're looking for.

Here are some of the weirdest burgers from around the world.

First Order Burger

Location: Disneyland

The Dark Side doesn't just have cookies, it also now has burgers, thanks to the Galactic Grill at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. There, you can indulge in Darth Vader's favorite sandwich while surrounded by people in Mickey Mouse ears. This burger isn't for those with weak stomachs, though: it packs quite a kick from a patty that combines both ground beef and chorizo, as well as toppings that include fried cherry peppers and a spicy lime-aioli. Top that off with a black bun, and you've got a burger worthy of the First Order.

Cheeseburger In A Can

Location: Germany

In Germany, you may want to get your burger to go in an entirely new kind of way: in a can. Because of its packaging, it has a good shelf life, so if you can't visit Germany to try one, cans often turn up on eBay. It works like this: you toss the can into a double boiler and heat it up for around 10 minutes. However, is it any good? The A.V. Club did a taste test and the general verdict was, "No. Oh dear sweet shrieking Lord, no." Still, it's certainly a novelty, right?

Burger King Whopper Bar's N.Y. Pizza Burger

Location: New York, N.Y.

The Big Apple is also the home to the big burger, at least the big burger that's as big as a pizza. Located in Times Square, the Whopper Bar serves up this crazy burger of four Whopper patties topped with pepperoni, mozzarella, marinara sauce and pesto on a 9 ½-inch sesame seed bun. At 2,500 calories, you're probably going to want to share this with a few friends.

Wendy's Caviar And Lobster Burger

Location: Japan

Japan is known for its strange take on American foods, but the Wendy's caviar and lobster burger puts the word "gourmet" in gourmet burgers. These are patties made with lobster chunks, lobster salad and caviar. These burgers also don't come cheap and cost around $16 to $20. It seems that Wendy's is a lot more upscale in Japan than it is here, where you'll probably just want to have a Frosty.

Krispy Kreme Burger

Location: Across the U.S.

Originally, everyone called this burger the Luther Burger because it was supposedly a favorite with R&B singer Luther Vandross (and rumors suggest that he created it). First served in a restaurant in Georgia, the idea of putting a hamburger patty and cheese between two donuts eventually became a state fair staple and has now managed to get itself added to greasy spoon diners across the states.
