New images and details regarding two upcoming Motorola smartphones have leaked. The Verizon Droid Turbo and Moto S 'Shamu' have posed for the camera.

Motorola recently announced its latest flagship smartphone, the new Moto X, and its midrange sibling, the second-generation Moto G. The new Moto X retains the customization options Motorola introduced with last year's Moto X in addition to a larger display and metal frame that gives the handset a stronger and more premium feel. The second-generation Moto G is now packing a 5-inch display, dual-SIM functionality, and its extremely popular $179 unlocked price tag.

We now know that Motorola is still planning to introduce two new smartphones; the Verizon Droid Turbo and Moto S. The Verizon Droid Turbo recently made its way through the FCC and an image of the smartphone's rear case with Verizon branding in tow has leaked.

Images were posted to HelloMotoHK and show a more rounded case compared with the current Verizon Droid Maxx. The site confirms that the Droid Turbo XT1254 will feature a 5.2-inch display with a possible Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440). It will reportedly be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3 GB of RAM to keep things running smoothly. The cutout for its rear camera is similar to the new Moto X's 13-megapixel camera, complete with Ring flash and dual-LEDs. The smartphone is also expected to have front-facing stereo speakers.

Rumors of 'Shamu', Motorola's first phablet, began to appear in late July and the device was believed to be Google's upcoming Nexus 6. An image of what is reportedly the Moto S Shamu's rear case has been posted online and given a size comparison with the second-generation Moto G and new Moto X's rear case. As you can see in the image, the Moto S has phablet-sized proportions and shares the same cutouts for its rear camera and Motorola logo as the new Moto X.

The Motorola Moto S is expected to feature a 5.9-inch 1080p full HD display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and could be Motorola's first smartphone to ship with Android L out of the box.

The Verizon Droid Turbo and Moto S are rumored to be officially announced in October. As always, we'll keep you updated on any new information regarding both smartphones.
