Huawei's Honor brand is an increasingly popular choice for smartphone fans who want bang for the buck and decent specs in one go.

Insiders familiar with the matter note that Huawei Honor 8 could stand out because of the use of glass, which covers both faces of the smartphone. Speculations are roaming free that aside from the display, the rear panel of Honor 8 will sport 2.5D curved glass, and it will come with a metal frame to boot.

This design choice could give Honor 8 an edge against competitors in the mid-tier consumer market.

Rumors say that Honor 8 will take a leaf out of its predecessor's book and will holster a 5.2-inch display. Taking inspiration from the Honor V8, the purported model could rely on a dual-system 12-megapixel camera.

For processing power, the Honor 8 is expected to use a Kirin 950 or Kirin 955 CPU, backed by 4 GB of RAM. A 3,000 mAh battery should keep the juices running in the device. If certain information is true, the device could benefit from the presence of an USB Type-C port.
