Runcible, Monohm's wooden smart pocket watch, is now up for grabs via Indiegogo.

Yes, Runcible is the same smartphone or pocket watch that the company initially introduced during the Mobile World Congress 2015.

Deemed "a smart pocket watch for the post-smartphone era," Monohm is launching an Indiegogo campaign in order to bring the unique device into the market.

"Funds from this campaign will go to further polish and hone the process of creating Runcible as scale in a sustainable, responsible way," reads the product page on the crowdsourcing site. "Every dollar this initial release generates will go toward making Runcible cooler, better and more available."

The company says that, as much as possible, it wants the device to be locally built in California. In fact, Runcible's wood backings come from local sources, specifically from "sustainably harvested trees in Mendocino County, California." Moreover, this smartphone-slash-smart-pocket-watch will be made by people who live and work in the Bay Area.

Runcible's Specs

In terms of specs, consumers should expect a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor under its hood. This device is also crammed with ARM Cortex A53 (64 bit, 1.2 GHz) Qualcomm Adreno 306 GPU with OpenGL ES 3 along with Qualcomm Hexagon v5 DSP.

Runcible rocks a round display that measures 2.5 inches and has a 640 x 640 resolution. On its back, one can find a 7-megapixel small snapper. Those who wish to modify it should know that it supports up to 13-megapixel camera. In terms of memory, this one includes 1 GB of RAM. Plus, it is fitted with 8 GB of internal storage. It also comes with an analog in/out port plus other options on its main board, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.

The device runs on BuniOS - an operating system based on Android 5.1 - and Linux.

"I was initially a bit nervous to bet on Android because it's such a moving target, but way down low it actually isn't," Monohm's co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Aubrey Anderson told The Verge. "It's pretty stable."

Backers' Options

The company has an array of options for backers of this particular campaign. These include:

$499 Option

For this option, backers will be given a limited edition Runcible Lovelace model that is built with an "iconic, unique, solid wood back" made from local madrone wood.

$399 Option

Backers will receive a Runcible Babbage model that rocks a back made from reclaimed ocean plastic.

$5,000 Option

With this particular option, in the meantime, the firm says that its chief technical officer, Jason Proctor, and Anderson will personally hand over a one-of-a-kind and special Runcible wherever you are across the globe. That's not all the company is throwing in to sweeten the pot, as the two executives will even take backers who will avail of this option to dinner.

Preorders for Monohm's Runcible will close on June 30.
