The revelation of the characters in the roster of WWE video games has turned out to be the most anticipated news for upcoming titles, and WWE 2K17 is no exception.

At this year's E3, Rob Schamberger, an artist specializing in WWE portraits, was tapped by 2K to paint a massive mural at the developer's booth featuring three members of the WWE 2K17 roster.

Schamberger's work is being sold through the WWE Shop and WWE Auction, with the artist usually taking part in major WWE events to meet fans and sell his work.

While the artwork is not yet finished, the three members of the WWE 2K17 roster being painted can already be figured out, with John Cena, the Ultimate Warrior and Sasha Banks to be part of the upcoming game.

WWE 2K16 featured the biggest roster of any WWE video game ever released, but it did not have the Four Horsewomen of NXT in the game. Now, with Sasha Banks confirmed as a playable character in WWE 2K17, it might be a good guess to think that the rest of the Four Horsewomen, namely Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Bayley, will be included in the game as well.

With the revelation of John Cena, the Ultimate Warrior and Sasha Banks being part of the WWE 2K17 roster, the known characters in the upcoming game have been bumped up to four. It was previously reported that gamers who preorder WWE 2K17 will receive Goldberg as a bonus character for the title. Similar to Sting being the preorder bonus for WWE 2K15, gamers will be getting both the black trunks version of Goldberg from WCW and the black-and-white trunks version of Goldberg from WWE.

Gamers who preorder WWE 2K17 will also be gaining access to a pair of retro WCW arenas, namely WCW Nitro and Halloween Havoc.

There is not much else known about WWE 2K17, however, aside from a vague release date within the fall season of this year. However, it seems that 2K is still very much leaning toward a heavy nostalgia factor for the game, with the possibility of more WCW characters coming into the title. Perhaps the Monday Night War between WWE and WCW would also be prominently featured.

Other new characters that WWE fans are looking forward to be in the game are newcomers Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura and Austin Aries. The roster is far from being completely revealed, but WWE 2K17 is already shaping up to be an even bigger game than its predecessor.
