The image of a mullet-sporting Superman basically sums up DC Comics in the 1990s. Superman gave his life battling Doomsday and the world thought him dead, only for the Man of Steel to return down the line with a head full of majestic black locks. It was more than a little silly. The hairdo didn't stick around for too long in the grand scheme of things, but it's still a unique piece of Superman history that fans still remember to this day.

Funnily enough, that's almost exactly what happened to Superman at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Superman "dies" fighting Doomsday and is buried. But the film's final image is that of the dirt on Superman's coffin levitating into the air, seeming to imply that the man known as Clark Kent isn't as dead as everybody thinks he is.

It's all but confirmed that Superman will be making a return in the upcoming Justice League movie. That much is a given, considering how Superman is the heart and soul of the superhero team. The real question now is whether or not he will return sporting the oh-so-fashionable mullet from the comics. According to director Zack Snyder, it seems like it could happen. When asked about how faithful Justice League will be to Superman's resurrection in the comics in terms of the character's appearance, here's what Snyder had to say:

"[His hair] should be perfect," Snyder said. "A little longer, I guess! That's what the myths are anyway."

It's not exactly confirmation, but it does seem to imply that Superman actor Henry Cavill will be growing his hair out at least a little for his return. Might Superman return with a beard as well? All of that is a mystery for now. Journalists recently had the chance to visit the set of Justice League, but Henry Cavill was nowhere to be seen.

That being said, plenty of other details about the film aside from Superman's post-death hairstyle have recently been revealed. It is now confirmed that the film's villain will be Steppenwolf, not Darkseid as most fans assumed. Those who visited the Justice League set also got the chance to check out all the new costumes and equipment that characters like Batman will be using in the film, including a four-legged battle tank. You can read more about that here.
