Apple has stopped manufacturing its Thunderbolt display. Rumors suggest that the discontinued monitor could be replaced with either a 4K or 5K display, but the company is yet to confirm the news.

A previous Tech Times report said that the Thunderbolt display will be available from the Apple's web store, retail store and authorized resellers only till supplies last, and it will not be replenished.

Many customers may want to buy Thunderbolt display, but it could soon go out of stock. Here are some of the best alternatives to Apple Thunderbolt display.

Dell UltraSharp 27-Inch InfinityEdge (U2717D)

The display has very thin bezels. Dell says that the 27-inch monitor has 43 percent less black borders in comparison to its predecessor.

"The World's first InfinityEdge Monitor has the world's thinnest borders on all sides of the screen, creating an almost seamless multi-monitor view," says Dell.

The monitor has a display resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The screen also has an anti-glare coating, which is absent on Apple Thunderbolt display. Customers also get a three-year advanced exchange service and premium panel guarantee on the purchase of the monitor.

Dell is currently offering the UltraSharp 27-inch InfinityEdge (U2717D) at a discount of $70, which brings down the price from $719.99 to $649.99.

LG UltraWide 34UM88-P 34-Inch LED Monitor

The LG offering is ideal for customers looking for a wider Thunderbolt 2.0 display. The LG 34UM88-P has a 34-inch screen that can accommodate more than one window side-by-side. The monitor has a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 21:9.

"On-Screen Control puts a host of essential monitor settings into a handy window for quick, easy access. Volume, brightness, picture mode presets, Screen Split 2.0 and Dual Controller and more can now be adjusted with just a few clicks of the mouse, instead of hard buttons on the monitor," says LG.

LG is selling the monitor for $999.99, but Amazon is offering more than $200 off on the LG UltraWide 34UM88-P 34-inch LED Monitor.

ASUS PB278Q

The ASUS monitor has a screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and it boasts a 178-degree viewing angle. Its pixel density of 157 ppi provides more than 8 million pixels — four times the pixel density of the standard Full HD display.

The refresh rate and response time of the PB278Q provides a great gaming experience.

"Fluid movement with ASUS PB287Q — world's leading 1ms (GTG) response time, the fastest available, and 60 Hz refresh rate for true 4K visuals and gaming," says ASUS.

The ASUS PB278Q is available at Amazon for $386.99.

BenQ SW2700PT 27-Inch WQHD Display
