In The Technomancer, it's hard to survive on Mars, even for those people who possess certain magical skills that give them electricity-based powers.

Armed with cybernetic implants that help control and harness these electricity-based skills, the Technomancers train from a young age to eventually become part of an organization that acts as a police force meant to help keep the human colonies of Mars safe, not just from the mutated monsters that roam the red planet, but also from other humans.

In The Technomancer, players become one of these mage-warriors and get inducted into the Technomancer organization. However, all is not as it seems: missions begin to uncover conspiracies and unrest on a planet that is close to civil war. Players must take on a quest to discover the truth behind the Technomancers, while being pursued by the secret police. Can he survive the harsh realities and monsters of Mars and help shape the destiny of the planet for futures to come?

A new launch trailer shows a sneak peek of the brutality of a Technomancer's life on Mars, as well as shows hints of what players can expect from gameplay, which involves combat, dialogue choices and even romance options.

The Technomancer is an RPG that also offers combat, as well as four skill trees that allow players to customize their fighting styles and the electricity-based powers of the Technomancers. Gameplay challenges players to decide how best to proceed, because not all situations call for brute strength or the use of magic. The game also features dialogue choices that will affect the outcome of the mission based on the decisions the player makes.

Finally, players can craft equipment, weapons and armor to suit their fighting styles, as well as recruit others to join their cause and teams — but those party members aren't just there for fighting. Gameplay also involves establishing relationships with each team member, which will also affect how the game plays out.

"Choose between combat, diplomacy and trickery to resolve quests," the game's official description reads. "Gain experience to level up your character, and learn new skills or upgrade perks across 4 unique skill trees. Loot, buy and craft more powerful equipment and weaponry for yourself and for the companions you will recruit along your adventure, and with whom you will nurturing alliances, romance, or rivalries."

The Technomancer releases on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 27.
