A new deal on Groupon touts attractive prices for select Samsung Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, Note 4 and more.

The launch of the latest-generation Galaxy S7 series had already knocked down the price of earlier models, but Groupon now cuts even deeper into the price for refurbished units.

First off, refurbished means that the units are not brand new but have been tweaked to a like-new condition and should be in perfect working order. Secondly, Groupon is selling Verizon versions of the smartphones, but the handsets will also work on GSM networks.

At the time of writing, the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, S5 and Note 4 are still available, with the Galaxy Note 3 and S4 sold out.

The Galaxy S6 for Verizon (G920V) costs $339.99 refurbished, marking a 24 percent discount of the regular $449.99 price tag. A $110 price cut allows for significant savings, although the Galaxy S6 is no longer the latest flagship. It's available in blue, gold and white color options at the time of writing.

Similarly, the Galaxy S6 edge for Verizon (G925V) drops $110 off its regular price to retail at $389.99 refurbished. The model is Verizon + GSM, which means it should also play nice with AT&T, T-Mobile or other GSM carriers. It's available in black and gold avatars at the time of writing.

The Galaxy S6 edge+ (G928V) is $439.99 refurbished after the $110 price cut, also coming in a Verizon + GSM model. Color options include black and gold. All three S6 versions have 32 GB of internal storage space.

The Verizon - GSM Galaxy S5 (G900V) costs $139.99, marking a $60 discount off its regular price tag of $199.99. It comes with 16 GB of native storage space and is available in black and white color options.

Lastly, the Verizon - GSM Galaxy Note 4 (N910V) costs $259.99, marking a $120 price cut off its regular $379.99 price. It packs 32 GB of internal locker space, with only the black model still available at the time of writing.

The new Groupon deal is quite attractive although the Galaxy models on sale are refurbished and are not part of the latest generation, as the significant price cuts now make them more affordable. The handsets may not be the latest and greatest anymore, but they still pack a punch.

That said, the deal may not be available for long, so interested customers might want to take advantage of it while it still lasts. Alternately, AT&T has some sweet BOGO deals in place by the end of the month, and the latest Galaxy flagships are in the mix.
