Red Dead Redemption seems to play much better on Xbox One, according to a recent side-by-side comparison video.

Thanks to the Microsoft backward compatibility program, the Xbox 360 game Red Dead Redemption can now be enjoyed on the company's latest console. And enjoyed it will be, as the better hardware from the Xbox One puts icing on the cake that the game already is.

The team at Digital Foundry offers visual proof of that in a side-by-side comparison video showcasing how the game was upgraded after landing on the Xbox One.

One of the key elements contributing to Red Dead Redemption looking fabulous on the Xbox One (as opposed to just great on Xbox 360) is that the frame rate is smoother on the newer console. Numbers show that Red Dead Redemption scores a stable 30 fps on the most recent Microsoft console, while the original Xbox 360 variant only rarely jumped to 25 fps.

Keep in mind that the rest of the game's visuals remain consistent with those of the previous version.

The original colors, textures, draw distance, resolution and lighting effects of Rockstar Games' Western third-person shooter have all been preserved. To summarize, the game is worth playing on Xbox One because of its increased performance.

Fans of the game can look forward to more good news than top-quality gaming experience on the Xbox One. The latest edition of the game packs the majority of the game's multiplayer DLC for zero extra charge. Specifically, the embedded expansions contained in this version of the game are Mavericks and Myths, Legends and Killers and Liars and Cheats.

Microsoft and Rockstar Games' decision to bring Red Dead Redemption to Xbox One proved to be well-timed. In the wake of the announcement that the game will feature backward compatibility, an almost 8,000 percent spike in sales was registered.

The standard Red Dead Redemption can be purchased on the Xbox Marketplace for $10.49, but keep in mind that Xbox Live Gold subscribers can get it on sale for $3 off the normal price.

Some rumors have surfaced that Rockstar Games is working on a follow-up to John Marston's gun-slinging adventure, but no official statements are backing them up.

Until the gaming company decides to continue the Wild West-themed, zombie-infused saga with another installment, we're looking forward to seeing more titles added to the backward compatibility program.
