Not so long ago, PlayStation Vice President Adam Boyes revealed that he is leaving Sony Interactive Entertainment for a job in the field of game development. Now, Xbox head Phil Spencer has spoken to wish his "friend" the best of luck.

The Xbox boss took to Twitter to wish Boyes well in his next endeavors, adding that he is excited to see what's next for the departing PlayStation VP in his career. Boyes replied to Spencer's tweet and thanked him for being Xbox's "classy platform leader."

The PlayStation executive earlier tweeted to announce his decision to part ways with Sony and go back to the "world of game development."

"After an incredible journey here at PlayStation, I've made the very hard decision to return to the world of game development!" he says.

Boyes has yet to mention where he will work next. We will be sure to keep you in the loop, though, as soon as we learn more about his upcoming workplace.

More Than Four Years

Boyes joined Sony in April 2012, which means he spent more than four years of working at the company before he decided to say goodbye.

In a previous PlayStation Blogcast, as Tech Times previously shared, Boyes said that he had an "incredible, incredible experience" of working for over four years at PlayStation.

In fact, he went on to say that being with the company had been his longest time he ever spent at an employer. However, he pointed out that the time has come to return to his first love — producing games.

Boyes also tagged his decision of leaving the company as extremely difficult, as his position at PlayStation is what other people usually call a "dream job."

However, he mentioned that what excites him the most is "[s]eeing all the people out there [in the game development world] doing great things."

Before he worked at PlayStation, Boyes became Capcom USA's director of production for a span of three years.

For those who are unaware, Boyes also served as a member of the board of directors at Starbreeze Studios, the company behind Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons, Payday 2 and Overkill's The Walking Dead, a first-person shooter that is yet to be released.

Boyes, during last year's E3, unveiled Final Fantasy VII Remake. He also announced in the same event Shenmue 3, a Kickstarter project that got the "most funded game" title in the history of Kickstarter.

So yes, we're looking forward to Boyes' next step in his career: "[m]aking games."
