Rogue One: A Star Wars Story marks the beginning of a new era for the galaxy far, far away. It's the first step in Disney's new expanded cinematic universe: instead of waiting for two years in between full Episodes, the studio is now dedicated to creating side stories and anthologies to fill in any missing gaps in both the timeline and production schedule.

With Celebration 2016 kicking off this weekend, it was only a matter of time before fans finally got to see some new footage from Rogue One. While most fans were probably expecting to see a full theatrical trailer of some kind, the behind-the-scenes sizzle reel was much better than most videos of its kind. Instead of force-feeding fans some half-baked interview, the teaser focused on what everyone wanted to see: new Rogue One footage.

And, as with any good teaser, there was quite a bit of information buried beneath the quick cuts and cinematography. There are no big spoilers to worry about, but there's plenty to speculate about - that's why we've gone through the teaser frame-by-frame to show you all of the new info hidden in the Star Wars: Rogue One sizzle reel:

Right off the bat, there's a huge emphasis on practical effects. Explosions, stunt work, even the pyrotechnics of the blasters are all being handled with actual on-set props - in fact, only a few blue-screen effects setups appear throughout the entire sizzle real.

The teaser itself puts it best:

"You'll actually compose shots, that, if we were on a greenscreen set, you just wouldn't have known were available."

There are a ton of different practical effects and costumes being made for the movie. Droids, aliens, weaponry, vehicles, explosions - it seems like the production team is doing everything it can to avoid using computer generated effects. The stunt actress playing Jyn Erso even takes a piece of debris to the shoulder during one shot (unless that's actually Felicity Jones in there, it's a little too hard to tell for sure).

As if the copious explosions weren't enough, it looks like Rogue One will feature quite a bit of action. The team has touted the film as a war story, and it definitely shows through here.

...but enough about the movie's overall feel - let's take a closer look at some of the major shots shown in the teaser.

This shot may seem simple at first, but there's something that looks an awful lot like moisture farming equipment sitting the background. For anyone unfamiliar with the series, moisture farming is what Luke Skywalker's adoptive parents were known for - though the planet featured in the photo above looks a little too lush to be Tatooine.

On the other hand, this planet looks very much like Tatooine. In fact, there are a few different shots throughout the teaser that appear to hint at a return to the original desert planet.

Speaking of specific planets, the tropical planet of Scarif is a huge part of the teaser. Seemingly every other shot takes place on a beach or in a jungle - which could hint at the importance of Scarif to the overall plot.

For instance, take a close look at what Jyn is holding. It's far too detailed to be a throwaway prop, and it certainly resembles something like a hard drive. If that's the case, one could assume that said drive contains the original Death Star plans - from there, one could also assume that Scarif could serve as the backdrop to the film's finale.

Of course, a movie about stealing the Death Star plans is probably going to feature the Death Star at some point - thankfully, the teaser gave fans a great look at the updated Imperial set. Not only that, but it seems as if the shot above is using an actual, physical composite - as in, the planet shown in the window is actually there, rather than a green-screen effect.

Speaking of the Death Star, the above photo may be the first glimpse that fans have seen of Jyn Erso's infiltration mission...though the fighting seems to hint that things don't exactly go according to plan.

There are also a ton of new Stormtroopers and Imperial tech shown throughout the teaser. Most of these new baddies have already made appearances in some form or another, but it's great to catch a closer look at the new Troopers. Plus, those Dark Troopers look fantastic.

From the looks of things, this appears to be the exterior of a ship's cockpit. Much like the Death Star shot from earlier, it appears to be using an actual composite from a scene over Scarif. It doesn't reveal much in the way of new story information, but it does show just how dedicated this team is to doing things the old-fashioned way.

Nobody seems to have any idea of what this thing is supposed to be, but it looks like a miniaturized Wampa - and that on its own is huge news.

Finally, fans are treated to a series of quick cuts featuring a number of different side characters. In the original video, it can be a little hard to tell who is who - and, even when the clip is slowed down, Disney has yet to release names for a majority of the characters shown.

Oh, and one last thing: Alan Tudyk!
