It's no secret that one of the main new features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be its advanced iris scanner. A new video shows how fast it unlocks the device, shows the updated TouchWiz "Grace UX," and confirms its 4 GB of RAM.

Samsung is reportedly planning to have five million the Galaxy Note 7 units manufactured and ready to ship on the same day it unveils and releases the device at a press event on Aug. 2. The company has already received FCC approval for its next-gen Note, further implying a release is in the very near future.

The Note 7 was most recently caught on camera, and the video showed the smartphone running very quickly, with no lag. This is believed to have a lot to do with the reported 4 GB of RAM inside and a new video confirms that feature, showing Samsung's updated version of TouchWiz, which has a new Grace UX interface.

The video starts out with the lock screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and shows its pattern unlock feature and its new iris scanner, which practically unlocks the device instantaneously with an eye scan. Its speed is on par with Apple's Touch ID sensors on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Images also confirm that the Galaxy Note 7 will include 4 GB of RAM and not 6 GB, which had been reported for months. While we don't get to see too much of the new Grace UX TouchWiz UI, some sources claim it has been optimized for an enhanced S Pen stylus believed to be another major feature in Samsung's next-gen phablet. Some claim that the new stylus may even work underwater.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will reportedly rock a 5.7-inch 2,560 by 1,440 Quad HD Super AMOLED curved edge display and use a Snapdragon or Exynos processor (depending on region) and 4 GB of RAM. The phablet will ship with 64 GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot to enable users to increase total storage.

Users can expect a 12 megapixel rear camera with OIS, phase detection autofocus among its many tricks, and selfie fans will appreciate its 5 megapixel front-facing camera. Recent reports claim that Samsung is planning to ship the Galaxy Note 7 with a large 3,600 to 4,000 mAh non-removable battery, built-in wireless charging out of the box and new USB Type-C port to replace the standard microUSB port found on most smartphones.

We'll be covering Samsung's Aug. 2 Unpacked event and will bring you all the latest Galaxy Note 7 news as it becomes available.
