Nvidia has unveiled a new Titan X graphics card, which is the most powerful GPU ever produced by the company.

The graphics card designer has been very busy launching new graphics cards this year. In May, the company launched the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070, which can deliver high performance. The GTX 1080 outperformed the Titan X that was launched in 2015.

"It's insane. The 1080 is insane, It's almost irresponsible amounts of performance," said Nvidia's CEO Jen-Hsun Huang. "This is the future of graphics, available today. 1080 is the new king."

Although Nvidia has not offered any comparison between the GTX 1080 and the new Titan X, the latest graphics card has now become the most powerful GPU, as it can deliver performance of 11 teraflops.

"The NVIDIA TITAN X, featuring the NVIDIA Pascal architecture, is the ultimate graphics card. Whatever you're doing, this groundbreaking TITAN X gives you the power to accomplish things you never thought possible," says Nvidia.

The new graphics card has 12 billion transistors, 12 GB of GDDR5X memory and 3,584 cores at 1.53 Ghz. Nvidia touts that it is about 60 percent faster than the previous version of the card.

The company's latest offering will be shipping with a record-breaking 3,584 CUDA cores compared to 3,072 CUDA cores found in last year's Titan X. It is based on the company Pascal GPU architecture, and the company claims that it is "the biggest GPU ever built."

Nvidia announced that the new Titan X will be available from the company's official website from Aug. 2 in North America and Europe. The graphics card maker did not confirm a release date in other regions yet but said that "it is coming soon to Asia."

The new offering could draw less power in comparison to its predecessor, but the company has not revealed any information regarding power consumption so far.

The 2015 Titan X, which was based on Maxwell architecture, had a launch price of $1,000. In comparison, the new Titan X will have a price tag of $1,200, which is higher than the cost of its predecessor at launch. Nevertheless, the newer and more powerful graphics card may still attract performance-hungry users.

The demand for graphic intense games and virtual reality (VR) needs GPUs that can deliver high performance. The latest Titan X can undoubtedly manage the requirements of hard core gamers or mad scientists.
