Most of the specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 have leaked ahead of the company's Aug. 2 event. A new Zauba listing now confirms the phablet will rock a 12-megapixel rear camera.

After years of sharp criticism for the use of cheap-feeling plastic in its flagship smartphone lineup, Samsung changed course in 2015 with the launch of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge at Mobile World Congress. The pair featured a new premium design that was constructed out of glass and metal, which pleased most of its naysayers, and the Galaxy S6 edge in particular impressed judges at the tradeshow and was awarded the prize for best new handset.

While everyone loved the new design of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, the new construction omitted two popular features that were included in all previous Galaxy S and Note smartphones: a microSD expansion slot and a non-removable battery.

With the launch of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Samsung reintroduced microSD expansion slots and explained why it removed the popular feature from the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.

Just as it brought back microSD expansion to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, the company will also please fans of its Galaxy Note phablet series, which dropped the feature from last year's Note 5. In addition to adding microSD expansion to the Galaxy Note 7, the device will also gain the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge's popular waterproof case.

Another key feature the Galaxy Note 7 is rumored to inherit from the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is their high-end 12-megapixel rear camera. The camera details were spotted on import/export site Zauba, which has revealed many details of upcoming devices over the years.

Zauba has listed the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 by its model number, SM-G930F on its site and confirms the Note 7 will use the same 12-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and autofocus found on the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will reportedly use a new 5.7-inch dual curved edge Quad HD display and will look very similar to the Galaxy S7 edge. The smartphone will pack in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor or Exynos 8893 chipset (based on region) and 4 GB of RAM to do all the heavy lifting.

A recently-leaked video showed how the Galaxy Note 7's advanced iris scanner will work and provided a quick glimpse at Samsung's new TouchWiz Grace UX. The phablet is also believed to launch with a base configuration of 64 GB of internal storage, large 3,600 mAh battery, as well as enhanced S Pen functionality.

We'll be covering Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 press event on Aug. 2 and will bring you all the latest details.
