Marvel wants its Avengers movies to be well received by superhero fans all over the world, and that is why it decided to make a few important changes to its upcoming release.

The two Avengers films will roll out as planned, in 2018 and 2019, respectively, but they will track separate stories instead of being two parts of the same one.

The 2018 movie will keep the initially announced title Avengers: Infinity War, while the one scheduled for one year later drops the Infinity War - Part II in favor of ... anyone's guess, really.

The studio keeps the lid on the implications that the title change has on both films' stories. What can be speculated is that the movies will feature divergent plots, but seeing how these are Marvel movies we are looking at, the stories might be visibly intertwined.

Cinema fans can agree that the decision is a positive one, as most viewers frown upon two-parters. The negative feedback toward movies slashed into Part 1 and Part 2 started pouring in since the days of the Harry Potter franchise, and it did not get any better with time. The final two installments in the Hunger Games series received a lower approval rating from fans than the rest of the entries. Not surprising, the first part of Mockingjay was chastised by fans for leaving them with a strong feeling of incompleteness.

The upcoming Avengers movies will be directed by the Russo brothers, who have two recent superhero movies under their belt, namely Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

It seems that Anthony and Joe Russo were considering the option of having two distinct titles instead of a two-parter for some time now. In May, Joe Russo stated that the two films are "very different movies," with a name changing being in tow. At the time, he affirmed that the studio did not find the appropriate title for the fourth Avengers movie.

Despite the fact that the brothers still have zilch when it comes to naming the 2019 Avengers movie, Disney and Marvel think it is a good idea to announce that their plans are changing. On the bright side, the release dates will remain as previously announced.

Infinity War will roll out on May 4, 2018, while the unnamed Avengers film is scheduled to land on May 3, 2019.

Marvel fans should know that beloved actors from previous superhero installments confirmed their presence in the upcoming films. Specifically, we're referring to Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor).
