The Honor 8 is headed to the United States with a special treat for audiophiles: "a world of trending music," thanks to a partnership with Deezer.

Huawei's Honor brand has stirred plenty of interest lately and its devices seem to grow increasingly popular among consumers looking for affordable handsets with good specifications. The Honor 8 has already been available for purchase in China for a while now, and it's ready to hit the States soon enough.

The smartphone will make its U.S. debut on Aug. 16 in San Francisco, and Honor USA is now teasing a special partnership with popular music streaming service Deezer to make the handset stand out from the crowd.

The company doesn't go into any details as to what this partnership entails exactly, but it sounds like Honor 8 buyers will get a load of free music to sweeten the deal. Deezer has roughly 10 million more songs than Spotify or Apple Music, amassing an impressive total of about 40 million songs.

In the United States, Deezer's premium service costs $10 per month, but Honor 8 owners will apparently get a sweet deal with at least some of that impressive trove available for free. It remains unclear at this point whether Deezer will make its entire music library available for free to Honor 8 owners.

When it comes to handset itself, the Honor 8 sports a sleek metallic build, a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) display, Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, and up to 4 GB of RAM. Other specs include 64 GB of native storage space, microSD support for extra storage, an 8-megapixel front camera, a dual 12-megapixel rear camera system with laser autofocus, and a 3,000 mAh battery to keep the show running. The handset further features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, while Android Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 will handle the software side.

Overall, it's shaping up as one of the most attractive, affordable midrangers, and an Honor 8 vs. Asus ZenFone 3 comparison shows tight competition. The Deezer goodies, however, might give the Honor 8 the edge it needs against rivals.

Honor has yet to unveil the U.S. price of the handset, but it should not cost more than $400 or $500 outright, even for the highest configuration.

The company should offer exact pricing and availability information at its upcoming event on Aug. 16, when it should also detail just what that Deezer collaboration really brings to the table. As always, we'll keep you posted as soon as we learn more.
