It appears as though Verizon won't be the only carrier to offer the unannounced Droid Turbo. A variant of the smartphone passed through the FCC with AT&T and T-Mobile's 4G LTE bands.

Fans of the Motorola Droid series on Verizon have a very impressive smartphone on its way to the carrier in the form of the Droid Turbo. The unannounced handset has been the subject of leaks for a couple months.

We reported in September that the Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo passed through the FCC for certification. We also got a chance to see the Droid Turbo's Verizon-emblazoned rear case in comparison to the Droid Maxx. Verizon and Motorola last updated the Droid series in July 2013, so the Droid Turbo is long overdue, but Verizon might not exclusively offer the smartphone.

A new report from Android Face seems to indicate that a Motorola Droid Turbo variant will also make its way to AT&T and T-Mobile. A new Motorola smartphone was spotted at the FCC and its ID of IHDT56PK2 is on-point with the Verizon Droid Turbo's FCC ID of  IHDT56PK1. The documentation also states that the new device "is electrically equivalent to the certified device carrying FCC ID IHDT56PK1."

The FCC document lists that the smartphone will support 4G LTE bands 2, 4, 5, and 17. These bands are supported on AT&T and T-Mobile's 4G LTE network. Since Verizon has an exclusive on the Droid brand, there has been chatter that this new model could go by the name "Moto X Play."

The Motorola Droid Turbo / Moto X Play will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 a 1440 (same as Galaxy Note 4 and LG G3). It will be powered by a 2.65-GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU (graphics processing unit), and 3 GB of RAM. The handset will reportedly ship with 32 GB of internal storage and run Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. The smartphone will pack in a 20-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies.

There's no word on an exact release date for both the Droid Turbo and Moto X Play. As always, we'll keep you posted on any new details.
