The Apple iPhone 7 has been much talked about on the web. The device is viewed as the most powerful iPhone Apple has ever come up with. Rumors claim that there are three versions of the handset: the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 Pro, but one has to be cancelled following the leak.

The iPhone 7 Pro is the big bad, the one iPhone to rule them all. The device was expected to launch with a massive 5.8-inch display and what appears to be a Smart Connector, something missing from the iPhone 7 Plus.

With Samsung and other manufacturers out of Asia competing effectively, one would like to know why Apple decided to get rid of the iPhone 7 Pro. Well, we understand this has a lot to do with the dual lens camera it has planned.

In the past, Apple was having problems manufacturing the iPhone 7 Plus with a dual lens camera attached. The idea then, was to create the iPhone 7 Pro, a smartphone big enough to house the new camera. According to Japanese blog Mac Otakara, problems with manufacturing have been fixed, and with the cameras that can now be placed on the iPhone 7 Plus, make the Pro version redundant. Apple could still revive this version, but in a different form such as its secondary S models.

If we look at the leaked images, we can see that the iPhone 7 Pro is home to the dual lens camera, while both the iPhone 7 Plus and base model iPhone 7 are home to a single lens camera.

Getting manufacturing issues under control is a great move. We're not certain if Apple would want to have three devices of similar name on the market, as one would certainly become the runt of the pack. An iPhone 7 and an iPhone 7 Plus should be good enough.

Other rumors of the iPhone 7 claim both the base model and iPhone 7 Plus will come with 256 GB of internal storage and optical image stabilization. Apple is late to the party because competitors have been releasing smartphones with optical image stabilization for years, Nokia being the first.

Interestingly enough, the iPhone 7 Plus won't come with a 3.5mm jack. If this is the case, your headphone or headset might not work with Apple's newest device unless the company releases an adapter to get things going.

It's difficult for Apple to innovate as much as in the past. Competitors have caught up, and even have managed to surpass Apple in several areas.

Bear in mind, the information laid out here should be viewed as rumors until Apple makes an official announcement.
