Samsung is apparently working on a new tablet that will rock S Pen support, according to a leaked user manual for the upcoming device.

The source of the leak is very important, because this time it's coming straight from Samsung. The user manual for the yet-to-be-announced Samsung tablet with stylus support surfaced on the company's own support page for an unknown device with model number SM-P580/P585. This adds significantly more credibility and although it's not an official announcement just yet, it suggests that a device launch is not too far off.

The user manual that Samsung posted (PDF) on its website was first spotted by Twitter user Roland Quandt. Most of the user manual is in Korean, but it does seem to confirm that the popular S Pen stylus that so far enriched the experience on Samsung's Galaxy Note devices will also hit this upcoming tablet.

At first glance, the upcoming Samsung tablet looks very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 launched earlier this year, but the S Pen makes a major difference.

The manual may be in Korean, but a number of drawings clearly show a stylus, and a few other specs and details indicate that the unannounced slate will be a beefed-up sibling of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1.

That said, the specifications will not exactly be top-notch. The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 was an upgrade compared to the 8- and 9.7-inch models, but it still launched as a mid-range device with rather mediocre specs. The slate packed an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage space, displaying visuals on a 10.1-inch screen with a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels.

Except for the S Pen, which is not present in the Galaxy Tab A 10.1, the SM-P580 tablet will feature virtually the same specifications. The unannounced tablet seems to sport the same 10.1-inch, full HD display, and the same 1.6 GHz Exynos 7870 processor.

Other specs include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and microSD support for additional storage capacity. In terms of dimensions, the slate measures 10 x 6.5 x 0.32 inches.

On the software side, the tablet will come with Android on board and Samsung's TouchWiz user interface on top, complete with popular features such as the Samsung Notes app that goes great with the S Pen, and multi-window mode to increase productivity.

It remains unclear for now when this device will become official or hit the market, and how much it will cost. Considering that the current Galaxy Tab A 10.1 sells for roughly $300 and doesn't sport an S Pen, expect the upcoming tablet to feature a higher price point.
