Huawei has already confirmed its press event for Sept. 1 at the IFA 2016 in Berlin, Germany, and now details about the 8-inch MediaPad M3 have surfaced online.

Moreover, the upcoming tablet — the successor of the MediaPad M2 8.0 that was released in May 2015 — has also received certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which suggests that the device's release in the country is imminent.

On Aug. 22, the MediaPad M3 8.0 from Huawei bearing the model number BTV-W09 received certification according to a listing from the U.S. regulatory body. However, it did not offer any other details apart from the label location drawing, which shows the mandatory FCC logo at the bottom of the device and the Huawei logo on top.

However, on the same day, a YouTube video courtesy of Andri Supawan surfaced online, offering a detailed look into the specs of the impending 8-inch Huawei tablet from its MediaPad family.

According to the video, the MediaPad M3 will sport an 8-inch IPS LCD capacitive display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. The tablet's pixel density, per the video, will be between 276 to 300 ppi.

Under the hood, the tablet will also house an octa-core Kirin 950 processor and 4 GB of RAM. The device will also pack in Mali-T880 GPU and offer 32 GB of on-board storage, which can be expanded up to 128 GB thanks to a microSD card.

The tablet will apparently boast a metal body and have a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie enthusiasts.

The MediaPad M3 8.0 will weigh 250 g (8.8 ounces) and offer support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GSM. The Huawei tablet will allegedly boast a 4,800 mAh battery that offers quick charge support.

The upcoming Huawei device is also said to come pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company's Emotion UI running on top. It will also offer support for Smart Gesture control and Hi-Fi audio technology.

Interestingly, Supawan does not share the source of his information. The authenticity of the details available through the video leak should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The third-gen 8-inch tablet from Huawei's M series is anticipated to debut at the IFA 2016 next month. The pricing of the MediaPad M3 8.0 is not known, but it will likely hit the U.S. shelves in time for the holiday season as it has already received the green signal from the FCC.
