Samsung recently announced its curved display Galaxy Note Edge phablet would be a limited edition concept, but it appears AT&T and T-Mobile will offer the smartphone. Models for each just passed through the FCC.

When Samsung announced the upcoming Galaxy Note 4 it also unveiled a new member to the Galaxy Note family. The Galaxy Note Edge has very similar specs to the Galaxy Note 4, but its main attraction is its unique curved 5.6-inch Quad HD curved display. The right side of the Note Edge's display wraps around a curve on its right side, creating a second display that allows users to access apps, alerts, and other features without disturbing the main viewing area of the screen.

The announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge also served as a message from the company to the world, that it has not lost its innovative edge. It remains to be seen if developers and consumers will take to the new phablet as they have with the company's existing Galaxy Note smartphones.

Most recently, Samsung said that the Galaxy Note Edge was a limited edition concept, which seemed to imply that it might not hit the U.S. as previously announced. It now appears that's not the case and the Note Edge has just passed through the FCC for certification.

The listing for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note Edge that made its way through the FCC shows its model number is SM-N915A. T-Mobile's Galaxy Note Edge landed at the FCC and its documentation lists the phablet by its model number of SM-N915T.

As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge features a 5.6-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD curved Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 524 pixels per inch (ppi) and is running Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It's powered by a 2.7-GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU (graphics processing unit), and has 3 GB of RAM. The handset will ship with 32 GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot.

The Galaxy Note Edge will boast a high-end 16-megapixel rear camera with smart optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfie fans. It will benefit from a large 3,000 mAh battery.

There's no word on an exact release date for either model, although initial reports said it would ship in October. Samsung still has some time to make good on that time frame. We'll keep you posted with any new Samsung Galaxy Note Edge information.
