Apple just confirmed that it will be holding a press event on Sept. 7 where it's expected to unveil the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. A new report claims the company will update its Mac lineup with a new MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and AMD-based iMacs, as early as October.

Apple is gearing up to launch new hardware for several of its most popular products over the next couple of weeks. The new iPhones to be officially unveiled at the Sept. 7 press event are expected to be evolutions of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, as they will feature the same overall design. An updated, redesigned iPhone in 2017 will reportedly feature a glass body and dual curved edge OLED display, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy Note 7.

There have been multiple reports that Apple will introduce a new Space Black color option for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, as well as a 3D Touch Home button to replace the physical button that has been a staple on every iPhone, iPad and iPod touch ever released. The company is also expected to launch the Apple Watch 2, which is believed to look similar to the current Apple Watch but include a GPS chip for enhanced fitness and health capabilities, faster processor and 35 percent larger battery.

A new report from Bloomberg claims that Apple will follow up its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus release by launching updates to its Mac lineup, which is said to take place as early as October. The company will reportedly unveil a thinner MacBook Pro, which will feature a new OLED display above its keyboard. The feature carries the name "Dynamic Function Row" internally and may differ when it's announced. Sources explained how it will work.

"For example, if a user is on their desktop, the screen will show a virtual representation of the standard function row, which includes brightness and media controls. When in an application, the virtual row will show options specific to the task at hand, but volume controls and a switch to show the default functions will always be present. The Safari web browser would enable controls for finding and defining terms, while the iMovie video editor would offer controls for cutting clips and a more-precise volume slider."

The updated MacBook Air models will reportedly drop the standard USB port in favor of USB-C ports, which Apple first introduced exclusively on its ultra-thin MacBook lineup. Faster processors, increased storage and RAM and longer battery life are also expected to be on tap. Apple is also said to announce new iMacs that will have the option of using an AMD graphics chip. LG and Apple are reportedly working on a 27-inch Thunderbolt display with 5K resolution but it's unclear if they will be introduced alongside the new Macs.

We'll keep you posted on any new Mac details as they become available.
