Lenovo, which unveiled the latest additions to its Yoga tablet line on Oct. 9, may have struck gold with the new Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, a 13-inch Android 4.4 tablet that comes with a built-in projector.

The tablet is reportedly "designed to focus on an elevated media experience." The headline-grabbing feature of the device is the built-in pico projector, which can broadcast images that are as large as 50 inches.

The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro was developed by Ashton Kutcher (yes, that Ashton Kutcher). The famous actor joined the company as a product engineer a year ago, and the device is one of his first creations.

"Our vision for the YOGA Tablet 2 Pro was to create the best tablet on the market," Kutcher said. "To do that, we really looked at how people use tablets and what they needed for a better experience. The YOGA Tablet 2 Pro has got the best sound, a dramatically brilliant camera and display, a new mode, a projector and top processor, so I think we created the best tablet available. I can't wait for people to try it."

The pico projector, which is located in the tablet's bulging hinge, broadcasts at a 16:9 aspect ratio and can be controlled through a physical button or a software button that shows up on the device's main interface screen. It also has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, which falls under Quad HD. However, the resolution drops when the projector is in use.

"The YOGA Tablet 2 Pro is the culmination of the most extensive research and feedback we've ever undertaken ... As a result, we've preserved the best features of the original YOGA Tablet -- the modes and the long battery life -- and now we've raised the bar completely with technologies like the projector that keep changing the way we think of tablets," said Jeff Meredith, vice-president of Lenovo's mobile business group .

The projector is not the only thing that is unique about the device. Lenovo paired the tablet with an 8-watt sound system with a subwoofer, which is meant to facilitate private movie screenings. The sound system, which is a first for tablets, comes with dual and large-chamber speakers that use Dolby Audio and Wolfson Master HiFi technology.

The Yoga 2 Tablet Pro comes with a fourth-generation Intel Atom processor, an 8 MP rear camera and 15 hours of battery life. The device will be available on the Lenovo website by the end of October. The price starts at $499.
