The Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy S7 may be in the spotlight when it comes to Samsung, but the sleek Galaxy A8 (2016) just leaked in some renders and it's looking gorgeous.

Samsung is generally making waves with its high-end flagships, but its midrange smartphones are no less worthy of consideration — especially if it's the Galaxy A line we're talking about.

Amid the whole Samsung Galaxy Note 7 controversy over exploding batteries and flight restrictions, the new Galaxy A8 iteration quietly made its way online in some leaked renders that show off a stylish, ultrathin design.

Last year, Samsung unleashed its Galaxy A8 as its thinnest smartphone ever, rocking a svelte design and an attractive price point compared with the more expensive Galaxy S6 flagships.

The company is expected to follow along with the Galaxy A8 this year and release a new iteration based on that same recipe, potentially launching as the Galaxy A8 (2016).

Trusted tipster @OnLeaks has now posted some high-resolution renders of the purported Galaxy A8 (2016), giving a good look at the smartphone's alleged design. If these leaked images turn out to be the real deal, the new-generation Samsung Galaxy A8 will sport an elegant glass front and back and a sleek metallic frame.

The tipster notes that the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) will measure 156.5 x 77.5 x 7.3 millimeters (6.16 x 3.05 x 0.28 inches), making it larger, yet thinner than the Galaxy S7 flagship.

While @OnLeaks doesn't offer any spec information with this leak, previous benchmarks painted an image of what to expect from the new Galaxy A8 (2016). A recent Geekbench listing, for instance, revealed an SM-A810F handset with a powerful Samsung Exynos 7420 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 3 GB of RAM and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board.

The smartphone is further expected to feature a 5.7-inch Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and a 16-megapixel main camera. A USB Type-C port could also be in the mix, based on the new renders.

If these specs turn out to be accurate and the smartphone looks like it does in these newly leaked renders, then the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) could arrive as an impressive midranger. If these rumored specs and design are paired with an attractive price point, Samsung could have a winner on its hands.

It's all still speculation at this point, however, so it's best to take these leaked renders and rumored specifications with a grain of salt until Samsung makes an official announcement. As always, we'll keep you up to date as soon as we get more details.
