For as long as man has walked the earth, he has looked to the stars. For centuries, man could only understand a fraction of what took place overhead. Even now, mankind continues to look out into the night sky, hoping some grand answer to the universe's questions are out there among the stars. We live in a world of mysteries; it only makes sense that mankind would look to the sky for answers.

UFO sightings have been reported for eons upon eons, and individual events have been recorded as far back as the 16th century. As time has passed, our technology for recording has grown by leaps and bounds. What began as simple stories of lights in the sky became detailed records. Photographs of lights against blackness became films. Even with these advances, nothing has proven reliable. Maybe UFOs are simply man's desire to learn from the stars overstepping its boundaries, but so far, there's been no reliable proof that extraterrestrials exist. Perhaps until now.

While it's not solid proof by any means, what could be the clearest UFO recording yet was posted this past weekend. Nearly 10 minutes of footage document...something flying overhead.

The video was taken by a passenger aboard a Carnival Cruise vessel just off the coast of Florida. While the person in the video is clearly speaking with someone else, it's hard to tell just how many people were able to witness the craft. Though, considering how clear the sky is in the video, it's safe to assume that anyone on the deck could have seen the UFO.

In case you can't see the video, the craft is basically a square. On each edge, what seem to be small cylinders protrude from the sides of the vessel. Another possible cylinder lies down the center of the craft. Whether these are engines, or a cockpit, or anything is unknown; at the very least, it's not the flying saucer that many associate with aliens from another world. If fact, it almost looks like one of the snowspeeders from Star Wars Episode V.

While it's fun to speculate on just what the object might be, there are a million possible explanations for what was in the Florida sky that day. Military drones, the fabled TR-3B stealth ship, a weather balloon - it could be anything. The most likely explanation is that the video is an outright hoax. Compared to the clouds in the sky, the scale of the craft just doesn't seem to add up. Either it was extremely far away or that craft was more massive than anything man has ever built...or it was a fake.

It seems that we'll just have to wait and see if our alien visitors feel like coming down and saying hello.
