Not much is known about the upcoming new entry in the Mass Effect series. The BioWare-developed RPG is coming sometime in March, will take players to a new galaxy and star all new characters, but outside of that fans have largely been kept in the dark.

That's likely to change soon, as it appears Amazon may have accidentally leaked the release date for Mass Effect: Andromeda. A recent listing appearing on the site for a book titled The Art Of Mass Effect: Andromeda is shown sporting a release date of March 21. That's not all that special on its own, mind you, as art books for games and films release around the same time as the games or films they're based on all the time.

However, the book's description specifically states that publisher Dark Horse will be releasing the book "simultaneously" with the new entry in BioWare's beloved game series. If that really is the case, then it seems like fans can expect to be playing Mass Effect: Andromeda on March 21. The hardcover The Art Of Mass Effect: Andromeda retails for $49.99. Here's the official description from Amazon:

"The award-winning Mass Effect series captured the renegade hearts and paragon souls of gamers everywhere with its memorable characters, stunning visuals and visceral combat! Now, journey to a new galaxy with Dark Horse's The Art of Mass Effect Andromeda - featuring never-before-seen art of the hotly anticipated game's characters, arsenal, locations, vehicles and more! This deluxe hardcover is an essential addition to any gamer's collection!"

Mass Effect: Andromeda's gameplay reveal came in September during Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro unveiling, where BioWare showed off some of the game's new characters exploring a large alien environment with the help of a jump-pack. No cover-based combat, vehicle segments or the franchise's signature dialogue circle were shown, but more details are expected to be coming on N7 day, also known as Nov. 7.

Following the gameplay debut of Mass Effect: Andromeda, it was revealed that the game will actually have two protagonists - a brother and a sister. Which ever one isn't chosen by the player will be an NPC companion.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC next year. Publisher EA has yet to announce an official release date for the title.
