Halloween is almost here, and that means it's time for all kinds of video games to start hosting various Halloween-themed in-game events. If you guessed that Blizzard's Overwatch would also be getting in on the spooky fun, it looks like you were correct.

Though it's not official just yet, Reddit user ChronosHero spotted Halloween-themed Overwatch loot boxes on the Xbox Store earlier today, seeming to confirm that Overwatch will indeed have a Halloween event. Similar to the Summer Games loot boxes from this summer, each Halloween loot box appears to contain exclusive themed skins, emotes, sprays, voice lines and victory poses that can only be earned through Halloween loot boxes.

The store post doesn't state a start date for the Halloween event, but does note that it ends on Nov. 1. Like the Summer Games boxes, players can both purchase the Halloween loot boxes will real money or earn them in Overwatch up until the day the event ends.

Here's the official store description of the Halloween boxes:

"Celebrate Halloween with some frightening treats for your heroes during a new event: Overwatch Halloween Terror!

"Trick out your collection by picking up Halloween Loot Boxes, available for a limited time. Every Loot Box contains up to four cosmetic items, including at least one Halloween skin, spray, highlight intro, emote, victory pose, player icon, voice line, or credits that you can use to unlock other items. More then 100 Halloween items are waiting to be unwrapped!

"If your Halloween Loot Box contains an item that is already in your collection, you will instead receive coins."

Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan did recently tease that new maps and even a new character would be on the way soon, so perhaps fans can expect even more new content outside of the Halloween event in October. It seems safe to assume that a Halloween-themed brawl will also launch alongside the event.

Even if we still have a few problems with how Overwatch's loot system works, at least Blizzard continues to add more content for players to (theoretically) enjoy free of charge. Expect an official announcement for the event soon. Fans can also look forward to major changes to Symmetra before the end of the year, as well as new game modes and maps to play them on.
