Blizzard has launched the Halloween Terror event for Overwatch across all platforms, bringing with it loot boxes with more than 100 Halloween-themed cosmetic items.

Many gamers have been expecting the update to include the new hero, Sombra, but it seems that the wait will continue as the hacker character is nowhere to be found. Disappointment in Sombra's absence, however, may have been overshadowed with another addition found in the Halloween Terror event, namely Junkenstein's Revenge.

Junkenstein's Revenge is the first ever co-op player vs. enemy brawl in Overwatch, wherein players will team up with three others to face off against a horde of incoming enemies.

As told in the digital comic that Blizzard released in advance of the Halloween Terror event, the brawl follows the story of Dr. Jamison Junkenstein, based on the Overwatch character Junkrat, who was looking to create artificial life similar to the Frankenstein tales of the past. Junkenstein's employer, the Lord of Adlersbrunn, mocked him and eventually dismissed him. Junkenstein's dreams were made possible by the witch of the wilds and her servants, who are Mercy and Reaper in their Halloween skins, allowing Junkenstein to bring to life a Frankenstein's monster-like Roadhog.

Junkenstein's Revenge sees the monster, along with hordes of so-called zomnics, attacking the castle of the Lord of Adlersbrunn, and it is up to the players to make the stand against the enemies for seven minutes. Players will only be able to choose between Ana, Hanzo, McCree and Soldier: 76 for the brawl, and they will need to come up with a strategy to withstand the waves of enemies coming at them.

The Halloween Terror event has just recently been launched, but gamers are already clamoring for Blizzard to make Junkenstein's Revenge, or at least a certain form of the co-op brawl, permanent for Overwatch.

"Junkenstein's Revenge is a damn good time," wrote Kotaku's Heather Alexandra, a sentiment that is shared in Overwatch's Reddit forums.

"PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ANYTHING THAT IS SACRED MAKE THIS PERMANENT OR AT LEAST A WAY TO PLAY IT ON A CUSTOM LOBBY," wrote Redditor SantyStuff as the opening post on a thread, adding that it serves as great training for aiming. Redditor Silverspy01 suggested that there could be an endless mode alongside the normal mode, with several gamers wanting to make other characters playable.

The Overwatch team has been known to actively listen to the community for updates and changes to the game, and for fans of Junkenstein's Revenge, they are likely hoping that the developers will listen to their calls to be able to get their co-op fix even after the Halloween Terror event ends.
