Ubisoft is rolling out the latest update to the The Division, and gamers should gear up for a slew of important changes after they install the 1.4 update.

Prior to the release of the update, Ubisoft's servers were down for three hours, allowing the gaming company to do proper maintenance on every ecosystem. At the time of writing, servers are purportedly functional, and The Division players should be prompted with an invitation to update to 1.4.

Size Of The Division Update 1.4

The update is quite hefty and it can weigh in 4.5 GB or 5.7 GB, depending if you download it on PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

Keep in mind that a number of consistent changes will affect weapons, game balance and more. The company states that the 1.4 update is a thorough response to the player's feedback and one of the main attributes of it is to repair issues that have plagued the game for months.

In the latest patch, Ubisoft focused on dealing with bugs, it increased the relevance of loot drops and it balanced gear sets and weapons.

The solo campaign experience should vastly improve, thanks to a series of quality-of-life features.

One notable aspect that got reworked is world tiers, which can now be capped at levels 30, 31, 32, or 33. Rewards and enemies are tailored to each specific level. Gamers who choose to start at level 31 and beyond will be able to enter Incursion and Challenge modes.

One direct implication of the change is that gamers now have the chance to get high-level gear without having to painfully grind through enemies worthy of Dark Souls.

You can check out the complete patch notes on Ubisoft's official page.

Those who do not own the game can pick it up from Amazon, which sells it at a special price. Fans can purchase The Division on all three platforms, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, for less than $18.

Postponed Release Of Survival and Last Stand

One downside of releasing the 1.4 is that Ubisoft had to postpone the release of Survival and Last Stand expansions for the title. This implies that Survival will land sometime later this year, while Last Stand is pushed back to the beginning of 2017.

It should be mentioned that, at the end of September, The Division ranked as the best-selling game of the year, if Ubisoft is to be believed.

If the game will keep this title remains to be seen, as FIFA 17 and Battlefield 1 have rolled out since then, and the hype for the latter was quite significant.
