Apple recently launched its new line of laptops, so we compare the new MacBook Pro 13-Inch, the MacBook Pro 13-inch With Touch Bar and the MacBook Pro 15-Inch with Touch Bar, so you know which purchase is right for you.

Hardware Configurations

The 13-inch MacBook Pro (sans Touch Bar) takes processing power from a dual-core i5 CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz, while the version with the Touch Bar packs an i5 Intel CPU clocked at 2.9 GHz. The standard 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar holsters a quad-core i7 CPU clocked at 2.6 GHz.

Both 13-inch models land with 8 GB of RAM out of the box, while the 15-inch doubled down on that, with 16 GB RAM.

There is no doubt that the latest 15-inch MacBook Pro yields the best performance of the three new laptops from Apple.

Looking at the GPU sector, the 13-inch variants tap into Intel graphics, the Iris HD 540 and Iris HD 550, respectively. On the other hand, the 15-inch laptop sports an AMD Radeon GPU that uses Polaris architecture.

Display

Apple uses LED-backlit IPS technology Retina displays featuring in all its laptops.

Resolutions are 2,560 x 1,600 pixels for the 13-inch MacBook Pros and 2,880 x 1,800 pixels for the 15-inch laptop.

Design

Aside from the bigger trackpad, the big novelty in the new MacBook Pro is the Touch Bar. Apple axed the function keys on the top of the keyboard and replaced them with a Touch Bar. The Touch Bar will maintain the functionality of the former keys while also enabling lighting and sound adjustments.

But the real kicker is that the bar customizes itself after the software that is currently running. This means that Photoshop users will get specific buttons for editing images in the Touch Bar. The Touch Bar also makes of Touch ID, making it easy to keep your laptop secure just as you would your iPhone.

Every one of the laptops can be ordered in Space Gray or Silver.

Price

The entry-level 13-inch laptop starts at a whopping $1,500, and the 13-inch variant equipped with the Touch Bar comes at about $1,800 - with basic specs, mind you. This means users will pay extra for extra oomph in processing power and RAM.

The low-spec 15-inch MacBook Pro begins at $2,400, but users who are eyeing a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor in this laptop must be ready to shell out $2,700.

Conclusion

The latest 15-inch MacBook Pro is easily the best choice for those who want to invest in Apple's strong specs and promising Touch Bar features. Keep in mind that the 15-inch MacBook Pro asks for a hefty price, whereas most users will get by with the basic 13-inch MacBook Pro.

The Touch Bar adds a bit to the price, but Apple touts that it will cater to the needs of creative types, be it artists or DJs.
