The hardware specification of the OnePlus 4 has been a mystery, and as such, rumors arose as folks try to determine what's under the hood. The latest rumor could be something we can finally believe in, and if it turns out to be true, we could be looking at the most powerful smartphone in 2017.

Over the short few years, the OnePlus brand has been on the rise. Steadily gaining a small following to the point where we now care. The current device is the OnePlus 3, but with the OnePlus 4 on the horizon, we're getting genuinely excited here.

Now, we have no idea when the device will hit the market, but it could be around June or July, as that's the same time period the OnePlus 3 was released. The company might not want to release the handset in early 2017 seeing as that's the time Samsung announces its Galaxy line of flagship smartphones.

Let's Talk About The Specs

Rumors claim the OnePlus 4 could come with a super-fast Snapdragon 830 SoC that runs at 3GHz. An Adreno 620 GPU might also feature in the device along with 8 GB worth of RAM, and an internal memory of up to 128 GB. As for the battery, we're hearing it could storage capabilities up to 4,200 mAh.

As for the camera, the main shooter is expected to be 24-megapixels, but no word if this is a dual camera set-up. When it comes down to selfie shooter, First Post is reporting 8-megapixel, which should be more than good enough.

A phone like this will have a huge display, and the rumors are claiming 5.5-inches to be maximum. The resolution is 2K (2,560 x 1,440).

What About The Operating System?

At launch, the device will likely hit store shelves with the OxygenOS, according to India Today. It's a mobile operating system based on Android Nougat 7.1. We understand it might also support two sim cards and wireless charging to round off the main features.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 will be the latest from the company, and is expected to be a 10nm chip. This should deliver increased performance and better battery life. However, how much of a performance and battery life we're looking at is still left to be seen.

The OnePlus 4 isn't the only device on the horizon for the Chinese company. The OnePlus 3T is set for release this year on Nov. 14. It's a slight upgrade over the OnePlus 3, nothing out of this world.
