Google's latest mobile operating system (OS) — Android 7.0 Nougat — was announced in beta version in March this year but was released to Nexus devices in August.

The LG V20 is the only smartphone from LG that comes running on Android 7.0 Nougat straight out of the box. LG has not officially confirmed the list of devices that will get Android 7.0 Nougat update; however, rumors hint that a number of LG phones will receive the latest OS within the next few months.

Android Nougat Update Release Date For LG Smartphones

The LG V10 originally came running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but it has received Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The LG G5 launched earlier this year runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Rumors suggest that the LG G5 should get a software update in mid-November. However, LG V10 owners may have to wait until March 2017 to get an update.

A previous Tech Times report noted that a LG G3 was spotted on GeekBench with Android 7.0 Nougat, which leads to speculations that the two-year old phone will also get latest Android OS. Rumors point that the LG G3 could receive Android 7.0 Nougat update in February 2017.

Other LG phones such as LG G4, LG K10 and more are also rumored to get Android 7.0 Nougat software update in the coming months.

New Features Coming With Android 7.0 Nougat Update 

The latest version of Android OS brings a number of new features that gives a reason to Android phone owners to wait for a software update. Android 7.0 Nougat will bring multi-window view, virtual reality (VR) mode, better battery performance and more.

The Doze battery conservation feature is now even better than before. Doze now helps people to save battery life even when the phone is in the purse or a pocket.

With Android Nougat, owners of Android devices will have better control over how mobile data is being used. With Data Saver, users can limit the amount of data used by their device. When the feature is activated then apps will not be able to access mobile data.

Android 7.0 Nougat also comes with powerful layers of encryption and security that keep personal data out of reach of hackers.

With so many features on board Android phone lovers will want to get a software update as soon as possible. However, customers will have to wait until LG and individual carriers in the U.S. officially confirms a software release dates for various LG phones.
