Apple has released the iOS 10. 2 public beta 2 on Monday, just a week after it released the initial 10.2 beta. The tiny release gap might be indicative that the company is rushing to get this public build to the hands of developers as fast as possible.

Chief among the new features introduced in the initial 10.2 beta release is the addition of an organization system for Apple Music alongside star ratings, a Preserve Settings option for the camera and a host of new emoji.

The latest 10.2 public beta packs more than just performance improvements or bug fixes, though, since Apple has brought, as promised, the brand-new TV app the company first showed off during the MacBook Pro reveal event back in Oct. 28.

Apple is now pushing out the second public beta of iOS 10.2, and if you aren't enrolled in Apple's Beta Software Program, here are the biggest changes included in the latest release.

The New TV App For iPhone

Apple's new TV app is Apple's own solution to online video for the iPhone, and while Netflix isn't jumping aboard Apple's new proprietary gimmick, there's plenty of partners present here, with a few examples being HBO Go, Hulu and Showtime Anytime to help users find content they want to stream.

The app acts as a centralized hub for users who want to find a movie or a TV show they want to watch, upon which the app links the user to the services mentioned above in order to start streaming. Additionally, the TV app can make recommendations based on your history.

SOS Emergency Calls

The second public beta of iOS 10.2 also brings a new SOS function that connects the phone automatically with emergency services upon pressing the home button five times. Apple's release notes state that the SOS function is available in the United States and a number of countries including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain and the UK.

A Slight Change To The Music App

Slight changes have been also added to the music app. Shuffle and Repeat buttons now feature larger buttons instead of icons in the music interface during playback.

Also present in public beta 2 are the new emoji with Unicode 9.0 support from the initial beta, as previously mentioned, along with new wallpapers and a new widget for the Videos app.

Those enrolled in Apple's Beta Software Program can head over to Settings, tap General then Software Update. Follow the instructions and the new beta will download over the air. Before you can try the new beta, however, you must have Apple's public beta profile installed.
