The metal-clad Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime which was released in September this year in select Asian markets is now available for purchase in the United States.

Announced in August, the Samsung phablet is now listed on e-retailer Amazon and is up for grabs for just $285 plus shipping charges of $4.85.

The Galaxy J7 Prime model that is available for purchase in the United States via Amazon is the factory unlocked dual SIM variant of the smartphone. The Galaxy J7 Prime is a stylish handset and will likely find favor with consumers in the United States.

"Boasts a stunning brushed metal finish with zero camera protrusion to ensure an overall ultra slim design. Its enlarged screen features flowing curved edges for optimal viewing and comfortable single handed use," says Samsung.

Is The Handset Compatible With My Carrier?

For those wondering if the unlocked Galaxy J7 Prime will work with their carrier — it will if you are on a carrier that supports GSM/LTE.

The Galaxy J7 Prime being sold in the United States is compatible with GSM/LTE bands and, therefore, will work with network operators such as T-Mobile and AT&T. However, if you are a subscriber of Verizon Wireless or Sprint, you are out of luck as the carriers do not support GSM/LTE.

Do I Get Warranty?

The product warranty section in the listing asks the customer to directly contact the seller "for warranty information" on the product.

The Galaxy J7 Prime is being sold by Amazon directly in this case making it the seller and, therefore, we would assume that it will come with U.S. warranty in tow. However, it would be preferable to contact Amazon and get the query sorted.

What Are The Color Options?

Currently, the only option available for the Galaxy J7 Prime in the United States is black. It is not clear if the gold option will be made available in the country in the near term.

Amazon is throwing in two-day free shipping for the device, so if you have been eyeing the Galaxy J7 Prime, now is a good time to snag the phablet. To refresh your memory, the Galaxy J7 Prime resembles sibling 2016 Galaxy J7; however, it houses far more advanced features. The device boasts a 5.5-inch FHD screen and houses an octa-core Exynos 7870 CPU, which clocks at 1.6 GHz and 3 GB of RAM.

The smartphone offers support for a fingerprint scanner and 32 GB of on-board storage, which is expandable to 256 GB. The Galaxy J7 Prime also sports a 13-megapixel primary snapper and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The Samsung phablet packs in a 3300 mAh battery and comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

Amazon has limited units of the Galaxy J7 Prime so those eyeing the handset need to hurry! The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime can now be purchased at Amazon for $285.
