OnePlus has released OxygenOS Open Beta 10 for the OnePlus 3, following up on the OxygenOS Open Beta 9 update that was released for the smartphone a couple of weeks ago.

OxygenOS Open Beta 10 adds a few minor new features and improvements to the OnePlus 3, but it is not the stable version of Android 7.0 Nougat that OnePlus promised would be launched to the smartphone before the year ends.

What's In OnePlus 3 OxygenOS Open Beta 10?

The OxygenOS Open Beta 9 update introduced expanded screenshot support to the smartphone, including optimizations to various aspects such as the user interface and battery performance of the OnePlus 3. The beta version also came with the usual fixes to bugs and improvements made to the device's performance and stability.

The OxygenOS Open Beta 10, meanwhile, comes with a slightly longer list of additions. Being introduced to the OnePlus 3 with the update is the Data Saver feature for those with expensive data plans, along with fixes for the lock screen clock bug while the smartphone is in portrait mode and for the issue that reverts the device to the default theme after rebooting.

Also included in the OxygenOS Open Beta 10 are optimizations to the speed of unlocking the OnePlus 3 through the fingerprint scanner, the quality of expanded screenshot, the strength of Wi-Fi connections, and the overall battery consumption and system performance.

No Android 7.0 Nougat For The OnePlus 3 In 2016

Last month, the company said that it will be rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to the OnePlus 3, as well as to the smartphone's upgraded version named the OnePlus 3T, in December before the year ends.

With only a couple of days remaining for 2016, it seems that OnePlus is on its way of breaking its promise, as the OxygenOS Open Beta 10 does contain Android 7.0 Nougat, being on beta status means that the update is not yet ready to be released to all users.

There is the possibility that the testing phase for OxygenOS Open Beta 10 will only be for two days to get the stable version of the operating system upgrade ready and released right in time for New Year's Eve, but the chances of that are slim to none.

This is likely the case too for the OnePlus 3T, which only received its first major update a couple of weeks ago, with the OxygenOS 3.5.4 update bringing several improvements to the smartphone but still powered by Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Nevertheless, for OnePlus 3 owners who are interested to try out the OxygenOS Open Beta 10 in preparation for the arrival of Android 7.0 Nougat to the smartphone, the update is now being rolled out over- the-air to Open Beta participants.
