Just like any of us, Sony is also looking forward 2017 with a renewed sense of optimism and vigor. Shuhei Yoshida, president of the Sony Worldwide Studios, has underscored this when he announced that this year, the world will bear witness to amazing new softwares.

Amazing Sony Softwares For 2017

Yoshida's words were first published by 4Gamers alongside the plans of Sony creators for 2017. He noted that 2016 has been the year — at least for Sony — of the hardware. Indeed, the company has released a number of new devices, which included the PlayStation VR, PlayStation 4 Slim, and the PlayStation 4 Pro.

Aside from Yoshida's veiled declaration, however, there were no details provided as to what exactly his company is cooking for its fans. Other Sony officials have also offered very little help.

"While I can't say any details yet, we're also moving forward with the creation of ambitious new titles and new title concepts at the same time, so please continue to support Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio in 2017," Teruyuki Toriyama, studio producer for Sony Japan said.

The consensus, however, is that everyone is busy at Sony, so PlayStation owners can expect some wonderful offerings as 2017 unfolds. Sony can be expected to pursue its big push during the company's event at the upcoming E3 happening in June.

New PlayStation Titles

Those frustrated about the teased plans for the sheer lack of specifics might be appeased by the promises of third-party creators in the 4Gamers report.

For example, Norihisa Kochiwa, the top honcho at Compile Heart, has announced a new content for his company's Neptune series. Aside from the game, however, Kochiwa also said that upon its roll out, they will be preparing a new RPG that incorporates "new things."

This has been echoed by other creators, which include SIE's Masaaki Yamagiwa and Enhance Games' Tetsuya Mizuguchi.

"From here on, I want to continue creating new experiences," Mizuguchi said. "Particularly, I will continue to focus on virtual reality. Rez Infinite still has various developments and much more evolution, so please look forward to it."

One should also note that there are already known titles that are in the pipeline. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a case in point and so are Mass Effect: Andromeda, God of War, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, among others.

Fans should also expect new VR titles for the PlayStation VR such as Inti Creates' Gal Gun VR.
