HTC is set to possibly redeem itself after its 2016 flagship HTC 10 failed to create a long-term impact in the tech market. The Taiwan-based company reportedly has a new smartphone in the works dubbed the HTC One X10.

If the tweet from the well-known leakster Evan Blass, who goes by the Twitter handle @evleaks, is to be believed, the OEM is expected to debut the HTC One X10 in the first quarter of this year.

On Wednesday, Jan. 4, the tipster took to Twitter to share the exciting news pertaining to the HTC One X10.

Rumors have been rife that HTC may announce the impending handset in the next few days to take advantage of the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2017 (CES 2017) scheduled from Jan. 5 to Jan. 8 in Las Vegas.

Earlier in December 2016, Tech Times reported that the alleged HTC One X10, which is the successor of the HTC One X9, with the model number 2PYR1XX received Bluetooth certification.

Based on the latest image shared by Evan Blass, the One X10 appears to have a sleeker look and has likely benefitted from design changes, albeit subtle ones. The leaked render bears a resemblance to the Google Pixel handset, which is also manufactured by HTC.

Rumored Specifications

Rumor has it that the HTC One X10 may sport a 5.5 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. A MediaTek Helio Cortex-A53 P10 octa-core processor clocked at 1.9 GHz, coupled with Mali-T860 GPU, is likely to power the phablet.

Like it's predecessor the HTC One X9, the next-gen phone is also expected to have 3 GB of RAM and offer 32 GB of internal storage. Whether the HTC One X10 will offer an expandable memory option like the older iteration is not known.

Photography buffs may also favor the handset as it is likely to feature a 16.3-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) in tow. The Android-powered HTC One X10 may also tout a 7.9 megapixel front-facing camera. If these rumors bear fruition, like most next-gen handsets, the HTC offering will improve on the camera capabilities of the HTC One X9, which has a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel primary and secondary camera, respectively.

The smartphone is also expected to boast a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device.

HTC One X10 Price

HTC is expected to price its new mid-range handset reasonably to lure more consumers. It is anticipated that the price of the upcoming smartphone will be around the $288 mark.

HTC is also expected to launch two more smartphones — the HTC 11 and HTC U Ultra — alongside the HTC One X10. Considering the One X9 debuted at the MWC 2016 in February end, the successor could also make its debut at the same event this year instead of CES 2017 as previously rumored. This time window affirms @evleaks' assertion of a Q1 2017 launch for the handset.
