Xbox lovers have reason to rejoice, as a slew of new games and sequels are set to hit the market shelves in February 2017. These games will be launched exclusively for Xbox One and Windows 10.

We take a look at some of the titles gamers can look forward to engaging in this year.

Halo Wars 2

This real-time strategy game, acting as a sequel to the 2009 game, Halo Wars, has got the gaming community abuzz with anticipation. Developed by 343 Industries and Creative Assembly, this game allows the player to command armies on a battlefield. A multi-player mode, supporting up to six players is also available. The game will be exclusively released for Windows 10 and Xbox One.

Halo Wars 2 releases on Feb. 21, 2017.

Tacoma

Fullbright had announced its second game, Tacoma at The Game Awards, 2014. After a delay of almost three years, this title is finally scheduled for a Spring 2017 release.

Tacoma takes us to the Lunar Transfer Station Tacoma, which is located 200,000 miles away from the Earth. The game will unveil many mysteries of space and will be capture the minds of many game buffs across the world.  The release will be exclusive to Windows 10 and Xbox One.

Crackdown 3

Reagent Games is releasing the third game in the Crackdown series, Crackdown 3. It acts as a sequel to the 2010 game Crackdown 2.

While the aesthetics have largely remained same as the previous two games, Crackdown 3 has a newly-integrated system of destructible environments. These can be triggered by the player whenever they want and cause mass destruction in the gaming environment.

Crackdown 3 was announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014 and is set for a release some time in 2017, exclusively for Windows 10 and Xbox One.

Phantom Dust

Phantom Dust was originally released for the Xbox in 2004 and is being revamped and released again in 2017 for the Xbox One. Like the original game, Phantom Dust is a blend of third person shooter games and collectible card games.

There are two modes: Combat and Non-combat. The Combat mode calls for the player to use various attacks and power-ups to defeat their opponents. The Non-combat mode, on the other hand, allows the player to interact with other non-playable characters, review their skills and perform actions which will lead them into combat situations.

The game will be available for purchase exclusively for Xbox One and Windows 10 sometime in 2017.

State of Decay 2

A sequel to the 2013 game State of Decay, State of Decay 2 is an upcoming game published by Microsoft Studios and developed by Undead Labs. This zombie survival game has an integrated open world environment where the player can explore the game as well and take the story forward. A cooperative game play mode has also been featured in the game.

While an exact date of release has not been mentioned by Undead Labs, the game is expected to release sometime in 2017. State of Decay 2 will be available exclusively for Xbox One and Windows 10.
