You might think that over two-and-a-half hours of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug would be enough for fans but, just as Peter Jackson has done with all of the other Tolkien-inspired films before, an extended edition is on the horizon. What's great about these extended editions (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Extended Edition included) is that the extra runtime actually improves the movies. The films get a chance to breath, dig deeper into character, and follow paths the theatrical versions might not have travelled. They're worthy additions to any Tolkien fan's collection and one that, if you love The Hobbit films, you won't want to miss.

T-Lounge is excited to premiere this exclusive bonus clip from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Extended Edition Blu-ray (in stores tomorrow). The short clip features a fun look at the filming of the barrel rafting scenes from the film that feature the company of dwarves floating down the river in large barrels. We hear from a few of the stars as they compare the experience to something out of Deliverance while a plucky tune strums in the background. It's a cute, funny clip that fans of The Hobbit will dig.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Extended Edition is available on Digital HD now. It arrives on Blu-ray & DVD on November 4.
