Just a day after Samsung announced that it will not be launching Samsung Galaxy S8 at the Mobile World Congress 2017, rumors are rife that the company has begun testing its upcoming flagship lineup.

Many believe that the testing process of the Samsung Galaxy S8 started in 2016. The announcement of the Galaxy S8, however, was postponed due to the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco and the subsequent decision to remove the phablet from the market.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs Update

According to a report by TechTastic, Samsung has listed Galaxy S8 in its user profile under the name SM-G950U, whereas the Galaxy S8 edge is listed as SM-G955U.

According to the listing, both the smartphones are running on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, which comes as a surprise since Android 7.1.1 has already been released by Google.

When Will Samsung Galaxy S8 Launch?

In a pattern that has been observed for quite a few years, Samsung usually introduces the Galaxy flagships at the MWC each year. Tech Times earlier reported that Samsung's chief, Koh Dong-jin, revealed that the company will not unveil its Galaxy S8 smartphone at the MWC this year.

The Samsung executive did not mention an alternate date for Galaxy S8's launch. However, previous rumors have stated that the smartphone will be revealed at a grand event on March 29.

However, a Twitter user and reliable source of leaks @Ricciolo tweeted that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 edge will be unveiled in multiple city events to be held in Europe and the United States.

It is being assumed that the launch event will be held in London for Europe and in New York for the United States, given Samsung's preference for these locations in its previous launches.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Render Leaked

A Twitter user going by the name @VenyaGeskin1 set the tech world on fire by tweeting a photo showing the render of the upcoming Galaxy S8. The picture shows a dual curved display of Galaxy S8 which is slightly different from the S7 edge. The leak also shows that the smartphone would come in a Blue Coral color.

The leaked render gave rise to many speculations and rumors and also confirmed earlier rumors of Samsung eliminating the Home button from the front panel. The image suggested that the fingerprint sensor could be embedded in the display itself.

The render also showed the "Always on Display" feature that the phone may be equipped with. This feature allows the time and battery status to be always shown on the screen.
