Emojis are widely used form of expression all around the world. Any messaging app is incomplete without a various sets of emojis.

Emojis are basically graphical representation of ideas, emotions, facial expressions, objects, places, symbols and many more genres in general.

Given that emojis are constantly used while texting, the popular messaging app WhatsApp is trying to provide Android users with some more emojis to make texting a better experience.

The latest WhatsApp beta version 2.17.44 houses a lot of new emojis that were unveiled first on iOS 10.2 and Android 7.1 Nougat, after getting approval from the Unicode Committee in 2016.

These new emojis are found in Unicode 9.0 and Emoji 4.0 and will now be available on WhatsApp even if the user is not on Android 7.1 Nougat.

New Emojis Promote Gender Equality

In 2016, Google submitted a proposal to the Unicode emoji committee for the addition of 13 new female professions to promote gender equality all over the world. At the time, women-centric emojis only depicted them in traditional roles of dancer, queen, getting a haircut, putting on nail polish.

Out of the 13, 11 emojis were approved - along with extra 5 emojis - by the committee to be incorporated in Android 7.1 Nougat. These new emojis will now be available on WhatsApp regardless of the fact that the user has Android 7.1 Nougat.

The best part about these professional emojis are that they incorporate both the genders along with various skin tones to give it a universal look.

Other than these 11, 5 more emojis that were not in Google's original proposal were approved and added to the list. The five emojis are:
